Kmart’s new NZ store is going to be one of their biggest yet!

Kmart’s just announced one of their biggest stores yet is on its way to Auckland’s Sylvia Park.

Imagine all the time you could spend in there if you were to win one of the $500 Kmart vouchers Dom, Meg & Randell are giving away to every single caller that gets on air this Friday between 6am and 10am!?

The new store, which is set to open its doors in 2019, will be an enormous 500sq m replacing the mall’s Countdown.

Ben Smith, Kmart’s property head of the department stores division, says this will be the first store they’ve opened in Auckland in more than 10 years.

This continues our expansion in New Zealand. This financial year, we have announced four new locations across New Zealand

Baby City charged with selling faulty cots

In January, the Herald revealed Baby City had recalled up to 1000 cots because of safety concerns. Photo / iStock

A baby product company could face a fine as high as $600,000 for allegedly selling defective cots.

The Commerce Commission filed nine charges against Baby City Retail Investments Limited in Auckland District Court Monday.

It is alleged the Lower Hutt-based company sold Milano brand cots in 2014 and 2015 that “did not comply with the prescribed product safety standard for those goods”.

Court documents show the allegations related to a “3-in-1 sleigh-style” product and one called a “Phoenix”.

One sale in Christchurch in October allegedly saw the company supply a cot with a “defective dropside mechanism and a potentially hazardous snag point”, according to court documents.

The Commerce Commission said another two products sold in Auckland featured similar problems.

In January, the Herald revealed Baby City had recalled up to 1000 cots because of safety concerns.

The recall notice related to the two models of Milano cots – costing between $300 and $500 – purchased between March 2012 and October last year.

Managing director Trevor Douthett said they had decided to undertake the recall after seeing the results of some recent independent testing done on the products.

The company had received earlier test results attesting to their meeting of safety standards but the recent results raised some concerns for child safety, he said at the time.

Mr Douthett stressed Baby City had not received any customer complaints or concerns and that he was not aware of any instances of any incidents or harm arising from the issues relating to the recall.

“Some cots have a V-shaped gap between the drop side and the rail at each end that could catch,” he said.

Staff said on Tuesday that Mr Douthett was overseas at the moment.

The alleged breaches of the Fair Trading Act could cost the company up to $600,000.

Baby City will be back in court next month.

Ready, Set, Go…Jek: Go-Jek Singapore Promo Codes

Image result for gojek singapore free riding

Ever since Uber left the roads of Singapore, commuters have considered this period a dark time in the local ride-hailing scene.

But, let’s be honest.

It’s not healthy industry competition that we, as consumers, really care about, but the competitive prices that come with it.

So it’s no surprise that all of Singapore awaited the entrance of Go-Jek eagerly, because in truth we’re actually cheering that the void of promo codes will be filled once again.

Like you, we’re keeping a close lookout for all the discounts that Singapore’s newest ride-hailing firm is ready to offer.

Here’s a list we have compiled.

1. 2 x $5 Vouchers For DBS Users

From the outset, Go-Jek offered priority to DBS users upon the launch of their beta app in Singapore.

When you set up an account on the Go-Jek app, you’ll be prompted to key in a promo code to put you on the top of the waiting list if you’re a DBS or POSB card holder.

The code is unique to your account, and you’ll have to type “DBS” followed by the first 6 digits of your American Express, Mastercard, or Visa DBS/POSB card. For example: “DBS012345”.

Once you enter this code, you’ll receive two $5 vouchers that will be automatically applied to your first two Go-Car rides.

2. 2 x $5 Vouchers For All New Users

This offer kind of nullifies the “special perks” for DBS/POSB members mentioned above, aside from the fact that they probably managed to get earlier access to Go-Jek and said vouchers.

Now that Go-Jek’s service is fully extended across all of Singapore, all new users who sign up with the app will also be entitled to two $5 vouchers.

As usual, the vouchers will be automatically applied when you book your first two Go-Car rides, and only stay valid for 14 days.

3. Sign Up Through Go-Jek Ads On Carousell, By 6 March

If you’re still new to Go-Jek, now’s the perfect time to strike, as there are even more vouchers to be redeemed for a fixed period.

However, you’ll have to sign up specifically by clicking through a Go-Jek ad on Carousell’s app or website to unlock these discounts.

Once you’ve done that, you’ll receive the usual two $5 vouchers for all new users, as well as another $13 on top of it.

Sign up through Carousell between 24-31 March 2019, and you’ll also get an additional $3 voucher (that makes up $26 altogether!).

If you miss that frame, you have all of February up till 6 March to sign up through Carousell, to still receive an additional $2 voucher instead.

Receive Vouchers In-App

Within the first few days of operations, some beta users have already been receiving new vouchers pushed to them in the Go-Jek app.

These vouchers don’t seem to require keying in any promo codes, so check “My Vouchers” in the app from time to time to see if you have been given a discount.

We will be continually updating this list as more promo codes are released. Check back again for more!
